How should I prepare for my facial?

During the 48 hours beforehand, avoid any type of exfoliation, peels or facial waxing. Please beware that any false lashes or microbladed eyebrows can be affected by a facial. I have a cold sore - can I have a facial?

Not until it the scab has fully shed and the skin behind it has healed. Whether it's an active or healing cold sore, the movements of facial massage can actually exacerbate the lesion, or cause it to spread. Both are a pretty serious risk, which is why our therapists’ practice under these specific guidelines. If you do not disclose that you have a cold sore before you arrive for your treatment, we reserve the right to charge in full for treatments booked.

about AESTHETICS

What areas do we treat?

In order to achieve remarkable results, we focus on three areas:

  1. Forehead - Lines that show when you raise your brow
  2. Between the Eyebrows - Frown lines, known also as "elevens"
  3. Crow’s Feet - Eye lines that show while smiling or squinting
What results can I expect from my treatment and how long will they last?

The anti-wrinkle treatments at Pre- are suitable for a wide range of skin types and facial shapes. Each individual responds to treatment differently, however, most people start seeing and feeling results within 4-6 days and the full effects typically develop after 14 days, which is when some people may require a top-up.

You can expect to see considerably finer and fewer lines for the 4-6 months following treatment but it depends on your lifestyle, activity levels, metabolism, etc.

How should I prepare for my treatment?

You should avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication for at least 24 hours beforehand, unless prescribed or instructed by your doctor. Over-the-counter topical numbing creams are safe to apply 30 minutes before treatment.

To prevent the risk of treatment migration, avoid lying down at least 4 hours after your anti-wrinkle injection treatment, and postpone vigorous exercise for the next 24 hours. Cleanse your face as gently as possible during the next 24 hours.

Are there any side effects?

There are very few side effects but bruising and mild redness/swelling at the injection sites are the most common side effects, which are temporary and subside within 30 minutes. Our practitioners are happy to discuss any and all treatment concerns during your consultation.

When should I come back for my next treatment?

While every face responds differently, we suggest returning for your next treatment every 3-4 months. This maintains the life of your results and ensures you aren’t reverting to facial movements that promote wrinkles re-establishing themselves.

How do wrinkle relaxing injections work?

The wrinkle relaxer we carry (Botox®) is Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA) approved and carry the same active ingredient: Botulinum toxin type A which works as a muscle relaxant.

about BROWS AND LASHES

Do I need a patch test for a brow or lash tint?

Please note that a patch test is required at least 48 hours before any tinting service and no appointment is necessary for this. All patch tests are renewed with us every 6 months. However, in some cases, we can provide you with a waiver form to sign if you do not wish to have a patch test prior to your eyebrow treatment. The waiver is not available for lash tint treatments.

Do I need a patch test before a lamination or lash lift treatment?

You will need to book a complimentary 10 minute consultation and patch test at least 48 hours before. We will not be able to carry out your treatment without a patch test being done. All patch tests are renewed with us every 6 months. Our goal is to keep you safe, although reactions are rare, they can happen.

Can I have brow lamination or lash lift during pregnancy?

We do not recommend brow lamination or lash lift for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pregnancy causes a change in hormones that can leave you more prone to reactions after your treatment. Regular tinting services are usually safe for during pregnancy.

about WAXING

How long should my hair be to get a wax?

You'll get the best results if you let the hair grow to about 1 cm or the length of an eyelash so the wax can properly grab the hair.

How do I prepare for my wax?

To make the most of your wax, it's a good idea to prepare by gently exfoliating your skin with a body scrub or mitt 48 hours before your appointment and making sure you have clean, freshly washed skin, free from moisturisers or oils.

Can I have waxing if I have my period?

Absolutely, but do keep in mind that the area may be sensitive and you may experience more discomfort than usual. You will need to wear a tampon for the duration of your treatment.

I’m pregnant - can I still have a wax?

Yes, you can still have a wax. However, you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. Our waxing specialists will make you as comfortable as possible during the service and we can provide pillows if required for extra support.

Can I have a wax if I’m on medication?

It's always best to consult your doctor before you book your appointment. For prescribed creams like Retin-A or Differin, we advise that you stop use 7 days prior to your wax reservation and to not resume use until 7 days after your wax service. We will not be able to wax you if you are taking Accutane or Roaccutane. It is essential that you inform us about the medications you're taking so we can provide you with a safe waxing experience.

Can I wax if I tanned the day before?

As a precaution, we recommend waiting 48 hours between waxing and tanning due to potentially increased skin sensitivity
